🐾 INTRODUCING THE SHINE CANINE SOCIAL CLUB! 🐾
Does your dog walk beautifully on the lead at home, but suddenly forget everything when another dog appears? 🤣 Or perhaps their recall is great… until something more exciting catches their attention?
We’ve got something NEW coming to Shine Canine!

After chatting with a customer recently, we came up with the idea of a Social Club – a fun, practical 5-week training programme where we take our training out into the real world! 🐕🌎
Rather than meeting at the same training grounds every week, we’ll head to different locations around Whitianga, helping you and your dog practise important skills in everyday situations.
🐾 Loose lead walking
🐾 Improving recall around distractions
🐾 Focus and engagement with your dog
🐾 Calm behaviour around other dogs
🐾 Building confidence in different environments
🐾 Working on sit, down, wait and stay
HOW WILL IT WORK?
🏡 Week 1 – Shine Canine Training Facility
We’ll start at our facilities, where we’ll discuss training techniques, practise some foundation exercises and introduce some interesting distractions – including sheep, chickens, ducks and possibly even cows! 🐑🐓🦆
You’ll also be given some homework to practise before our next session.
🌳 Weeks 2–5 – Out and About in Whitianga!
Each week we’ll meet at a different location around town, putting our training into practice around different distractions. We’ll gradually build on the skills you’ve learned, with new challenges and homework each week.
The aim? To help you have a dog who can listen, focus and respond to you, even when there’s exciting stuff happening around them!
💰 Cost: $150 for the full 5 weeks – includes our Ebook and training notes with videos – INTRODUCTORY SPECIAL as a “pilot class”.
📅 Day & time: We’re keeping this flexible for now! We’ll choose the day and time based on what suits the majority of interested participants, so please let us know your availability. At this stage it is looking like Thursday afternoon for our first intake.
🐕 Who is it suitable for?
Dogs who have some basic training but need help putting those skills into practice around real-life distractions. Dogs must be sociable and comfortable working around other dogs.
Please note, this isn’t a doggy playgroup! It’s about teaching our dogs that they can be around other dogs without needing to interact with them.
⭐ SPACES WILL BE LIMITED!
Let’s get out, have some fun and build better training habits together!
🐾 Train together. Explore together. Learn together!
